At JMA Joinery & Building Services, we’ve fitted hundreds of kitchens in Grimsby, Cleethorpes, and across North East Lincolnshire. Whether you’re upgrading your family kitchen in Scartho or renovating a holiday chalet on the Humberston Fitties, we follow a clear, professional process to deliver top-quality results every time.
Here’s a step-by-step look at how we fit kitchens for local homeowners and landlords:
1. Initial Consultation & Survey
We start by visiting your property—whether it’s in Grimsby, Cleethorpes, Humberston or New Waltham—to discuss your needs, take precise measurements, and assess the space. We’ll look at existing plumbing, electrics, walls, and floor levels to ensure everything is ready for the new kitchen layout.
2. Design and Planning
Once we understand your vision, we’ll help you finalise your kitchen layout. Whether you’ve already bought a kitchen from a national supplier or you need help sourcing locally, we’ll make sure everything fits perfectly.
We can also coordinate with trusted local plumbers, electricians, and tilers to make your life easier.
3. Rip-Out and Preparation
On the agreed start date, we remove the old kitchen carefully, disposing of all waste responsibly. Then we prepare the space—level the floor if needed, adjust walls, reroute plumbing, and chase cables ready for new socket placements.
4. Installation of Units and Cabinets
Now the exciting part—fitting your new kitchen. We start by marking and fixing base and wall units, ensuring they are level, secure, and perfectly aligned. Corner units and tall housings are placed first to build around.
5. Worktops, Sinks and Appliances
Once the units are in place, we cut and fit the worktops to suit your layout, including joints, sink cut-outs, and hob spaces. If you’re installing solid wood or laminate worktops, we treat and seal them properly to extend their life.
We’ll also install sinks and any integrated appliances, ready for connection by a qualified plumber or electrician.

6. Final Touches and Finishing
We complete the job with all the final touches—plinths, cornices, pelmets, end panels, and any adjustments needed. If you’re tiling or having a splashback fitted, we leave the space ready and advise your tiler accordingly.
7. Handover and Aftercare
Once your new kitchen is complete, we’ll walk you through the work, check everything is functioning as it should, and make sure you’re 100% happy.
We’re proud of our reputation across Grimsby and Cleethorpes for reliability, honesty, and top-quality workmanship—and we’re always happy to return if any adjustments are needed.
